Starting today, we've new finance deals on Yamaha 125cc motorbikes and scooters at our Clapham, London Yamaha Premier dealer branch. If the extra traffic and restrictions for the Olympics, increasing petrol prices or just the hassle of getting around in a car is finally getting to you, or if you are looking to trade up to a new Yamaha, this is the perfect time to talk to Nyall and his sales team.

Hidden Gems

We all love riding our bikes, but sometimes it’s difficult to know where to ride them; to a local landmark, a breathtaking viewpoint, a cracking café?

There are so many great biking destinations we all know about, but there are even more hidden gems we don’t. So at so Infinity we want you to get riding, get snapping and get sharing to help inspire everyone to get out and enjoy riding more.
To get involved all you have to do is ride to your favourite destination, take a picture of your bike there (with or without you), and upload it to our Facebook page. Tell the world where your destination is and why you think it’s worth riding there.  Here's an example from our mate Dan;

“This is my 2009 Royal Enfield Classic pictured outside Goodwood, but this picture could almost be taken 50 years earlier!  Plenty of great roads around the nearby South Downs and you're close to the Channel coast too.”
Now, this isn't a competition, but if a picture catches our eye, or if it gets lots of 'Likes' on Facebook, you might be the lucky recipient of a Bag+ 25-litre rucksack worth £39.99.

The details:

ñ  How far do I have to go?
As far as you like. You’re destination can be anywhere in the World; wherever you’re comfortable riding to. We’re not looking for heroics, just something different, inspiring and interesting.
ñ  What kind of locations are you looking for?
It can be anywhere really, as long as you can tell us why you think it’s a Great Biking Destination. Tell us about somewhere we’ve never heard of before, a hidden gem  worth going the extra few miles for… Make us laugh, make us cry, make us envious about where you’ve been. But above all else, inspire everyone to get on their bike and ride there too.
ñ  What are you definitely not looking for?
We won’t be impressed with: granny’s garden, bike in your driveway, outside a motorcycle dealer (even if it's an  Infinity store).
ñ  Do I have to be a good photographer?
Not at all, as long as your shot is clear enough to give us a good impression of your destination, that’ll do the job nicely. We’re interested in the quality of the subject, not the picture.

We've added a new feature to our product pages - visit our website pages for kit you've bought from us and submit a review, let us and our other customers know what you think of your kit. We're going to give the best review every month a £50 Infinity Voucher every month, and we'll print the best ones in our newsletter.

You're going to have to go some way to beat this Spada 407 Suit review though - currently favourite for July's prize.

Yes, that's 100 000 Miles!

Infinity Motorcycles' store manager Nigel Armstrong has ‘clocked the ton’ on his Yamaha R6 this month, reaching an impressive 100,000 miles from new.

Nige Looking Pleased With Himself.
Nigel, who manages Infinity’s clothing and accessory store in Farnborough, opted for a company bike in 2004, and has ridden his R6 in all temperatures and conditions, throughout the seasons, during his daily duties for Infinity and in his leisure time too. Incredibly he has only had to perform routine servicing and replace consumables, such as the tyres, chain and sprockets on the 600cc Yamaha.

Nigel has fared just as well considering the time he’s spent in the saddle and the conditions he’s endured. He puts the achievement squarely down to his choice of rider clothing:

“I’ve always stuck to the quality brands, like Rukka. Although the purchase price is a little higher, it’s well worth the extra for the quality, the features and the longevity you get. ”

His view is reflected In a recent customer survey by Infinity, which revealed that their shoppers are opting for premium brands like Rukka, Alpinestars and Dainese. As Britain's bikers become older (average age 41-50) and more affluent (annual income £20k - £40k) it appears that they seek the reassurance of premium brands, which they believe offer better performance and quality than cheaper options.

Win A £13000 Yamaha Super Tenere!

Ok, this is it, our biggest ever giveaway! One lucky newsletter subscriber will win a brand spanking new Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere worth a cool £13000. This is the biggest prize we've ever given away, overshadowing the Yamaha's we've given away over the last couple of years. As before, there's no purchase necessary, all we ask is that you sign up for our popular (and I'd like to add "Award Winning") fortnightly newsletter and official Yamaha UK newsletter, which you can do on our Win A Super Tenere web page.

Yamaha Super Tenere 2011 Colours

We have a Super Tenere demonstrator available at our Clapham branch right now (subject to status), and as Yamaha Premier Dealers we're part of the Yamaha "Test Ride To Adventure" offer, where you can win an 8 Day Moroccan adventure with Nick Sanders on an XT1200Z. You can call Nyall on 0207 720 6072, or email him to arrange a test ride. Anyone having a demo and filling in a questionnaire will receive a free Nick Sanders book and DVD. This offer runs until June 30th 2011.

We also have two runners up prizes of a day at the Geraint Jones' Yamaha Tenere Experience in Wales, worth £250 each. The day includes bike hire, instruction, insurance (under 25's must provide own insurance), fuel, lunch and refreshments. A group of us had one of the best days motorcycle riding we've ever had with these guys a couple of years ago - we can't recommend them enough. If you've never ridden off road, you'll be amazed by how much it can help you as a road rider, and the scenery is beautiful - take a camera.

Take a Camera - A Waterproof One.

Full Terms And Conditions are available on our Win A Super Tenere page, but basically this competition is open to over 18 year old UK residents with a full motorcycle licence who receive our newsletter. Did I mention that it's an Award Winning newsletter?

Finally, Some Nice Weather!

Hope I haven't jinxed it!

Our latest newsletter has just gone out, new kit is arriving on a daily basis and suddenly we can't move in the packing room again - the season really seems to be startting with a bang this year...

I've previously explained how Club Infinity works on this here blog, but we're doing something for Club Members this month;  well two things actually.

Firstly, buy anything from our Clothing and Accessory shops, or on line, before the end of March and we'll give you double points. So instead of a £10 voucher for every £250 you spend, we'll give you £20 (or £10 for every £125). It's a great way to get a bit back on the new gear.

Secondly we're giving away £4000 of Infinity Vouchers to Club Infinity Members! We've given each branch £500 in vouchers, and at the and of May, they'll randomly pick a Club Infinity Member who's bought something from their store to win the vouchers. Mail Order are included in the give away too.

The Double Points applies to anything, even special offers, so you could buy a nice new Arai Chaser Hopkins rep online for £369.99, get free gifts worth £60, spend a fiver on odds and ends (to make it look like you're not just thinking of yourself!),  and you'll receive enough points for £30 in vouchers too!

We're clearing some Arai Chaser Eagles too; down from £369.99 to £249.99, with free delivery and £20 worth of Club Points.

Keep an eye on the site - we've a couple of other things in the pipeline for Club Infinity Members too!

Back To Normality

The stands are stripped and back in storage.

The unsold stock is back in York and Farnborough.

The hire trucks have gone back.

We've all had a night in our own beds.

We've added some photos to our Facebook page.

I think we should al have a few days off now!

Dave's Birthday Yesterday

Birthday Boy Dave Holloway is far fresher than most this morning - there are a few people struggling! Dave has some wierd superhuman power that means he never gets a hangover. Suspisciously, Rob and Watty have both vanished.

Dean isn't so bright though.

Ed won an award for this jumper - he's just missing a rocking chair and some whistling.

Chez and Sam from our Mail Order department are selling HJC's over on the big Oxford stand.

Here's the Helmet Dream Team - Coren, Lisa, Ted, Mel (voted Show Top Totty) and Dean

Quick Update

Just in case you were worried about who was wearing the watch, today it's Mr Long from Forcefield, who acquired the spectacular timepiece for a misguided commercial decision.

I think he was lucky to get away with just the watch....

Prior to Mr Long, the watch wearer was Coren. Every year one person has to live with the shame and humiliation of forgetting their show pass, this year is no exception. Well done Coren!

There's a host of minor nominations coming through the phones and email to Mail Order, but since it's Dave's birthday tomorrow my guess is he'll be nominated for a special birthday treat tonight...

Our Stands Are Built!

As you can see from the pic, we've got the bare bones of the stands built and tomorrow we start stocking up. Tomorrow also marks the day the daily battle to avoid wearing the Ingersol begins in earnest.

We have a few traditions; one of the more recent ones is that we have a vote at the end of every day to decide who must wear a tasteless watch the next day as a penance for an act of stupidity or incompetence. There are a few rules, but most of them can be bent to make sure that Rob (our MD and tea boy on the left) has to wear it on Trade Day when he has a lot of meetings!

This year we have a whole side of our stand dedicated to gloves, with loads of our bestsellers for you try at very special show prices. Terry and June, sorry, Ricky Moon spent most of the day building the cages to store them all, then Ricky climbed a ladder because we told him he'd get better reception on his mobile that way. Ricky is no stranger to the Ingersol!

There's no bikes to be seen yet, but apparently Yamaha have Ben Spies WSB winning R1, James Toselands M1 and a proper bike - a reverse cylinder YZ450F! The hall the bikes are in looks packed, I suspect the lack of certain manufacturers whose name begins with "H" just means the other guys have more room.
